English trade with Indians during Span. and French War flourishing in Ohio country; Del., Shaw. and Six Nations friendly, wanted Eng. traders, implored Eng. to build Forts- Pa. Quaker Assembly did not; criminal stupidity that lost this country to English, Hanna says. Miami etc. entered into alliance with English, 1748 summer; all wanted forts.
"In short, we irritated French, dispirited the Ind. allies and gave enemy immense advantages beyond conception"- says report.
